My favourite is definitely Carly Rae Jepson ! She's so pretty in reality. It's a pity I was sitting damn far away though D:
A picture from the venue when haze still wasn't a problem, haha!
I could only get a clearer shot of her from the screen.
That's how far I was from the stage though.
Oh hello there #terroristlookalike
On Saturday, there was a cosplay event at NUS and it was then the haze finally parted. Lucky!
Happy times!
I don't know if it is just me but blogger is getting increasingly hard to use -_-" Before I end my extremely short post (unrepentant after not blogging for so long), I bring to you three really short reviews!
First up...
Eyemazing No. 201
This is a pair of lashes that is extremely cute ~ I bought it when I was in Japan but it's now easily available in BHG as well (specifically the Century Square, Tampines outlet since I frequent there often and saw it before).
Packaging: 5/5 - It's really easy to open and re-seal it.
Price: 4/5 - If you purchase it when BHG has a 20% offer, it's super worth it! #auntiepersonalityemerge
Application: 4/5 - Remember to bend it before application or the lash can be really straight and hence unnatural on your eyes.
Effect: 3/5 - Since it's a "portion" and not full lash, it might look a bit funny if you don't have the habit of coating your lower lash with mascara. Compared to Dolly Wink's Baby Cute, it isn't as obvious though.
Total: 4/5 ;)
Will I Rebuy? Maybe not... Since I would prefer more drama and since I fumble with mascara on lower lashes, I would prefer full lashes. It differs for everyone!
Next up, we have...
Decorative Eyelash #1 Play Cool
Packaging: 5/5 - Easy to open and re-seal. I'm a lazy person so as long as it's convenient, I'm good.
Price: 4/5 - It's cheaper than Dolly Wink, comes with more pairs (yay!) and re-usable.
Application: 4/5 - Remember to bend it before application (like with all falsies)
Effect: 4/5 - Since it's a "portion" and not full lash, it might look a bit funny if you don't have the habit of coating your lower lash with mascara. Compared to Dolly Wink's Baby Cute, it isn't as obvious though.
Total: 4.25/5 ;)
Will I Rebuy? Yes, I will! However, it's not easily accessible. After I bought it from a sale at Tampines Mall, I haven't seen this brand anymore ;_;
Last but not least...
I. Fairy Viva Brown
Packaging: 0/5 - Those crazily hard-to-open bottles with metal seals never fail to break all my nails -_-
Price: 5/5 - For yearly lenses, they are pretty affordable! Of course, I wouldn't wear them for a year but you get me.
Comfort: 4/5 - Even in hazy conditions or being in air-con for the entire day, I could wear this pair for 9 - 12 hours and they didn't hurt when I removed them. I would say that's pretty good!
Effect: 4/5 -Very dolly and pretty natural if you have dark brown eyes naturally. However, you can't wear them without make-up because the enlargement is great!
Will I Rebuy? I love trying out a variety of lenses so... it's hard to tell!
With all these three reviewed items (which I all bought on my own), here's the look that I've created!
Vain despite hazy weather

Dolly Wink No. 6 Baby Cute
Love love love the effect it helps my eyes achieve! They look super natural yet dramatic at the same time (how is that even possible but argh, I can't think of how to describe it!). However, no matter how much I loved it, the application is horrible! I prefer strip lashes and had a hard time fumbling with the tiny pieces (each lower lash has a bunch of 6 individual pieces). Not to mention, they fly away too easily so please avoid the fan during application! And tweazers are definitely mandatory (usually I apply with my hands).
Although the lashes are pricey and not always available in Watsons, I am tempted to purchase another set of lower lashes from Dolly Wink (because I loved the effect!). And I'm definitely trying out her 'Otona' series where the lower lashes come in strips instead (laughs). I heard that they are cheaper in Taiwan so I can't wait to stock them up on my trip this December!
Overall Conclusion
Packaging: 5/5
Price: 3/5
Application: 3/5 (I just need to invest more time in applying it)
Effect: 5/5
Total: 4/5
If you're someone with greater patience and precise handling of small pieces, these lashes are definitely suitable for you! And one last camwhore shot before I end the post...
Ciao!

AFA IS COMING AND I'M BUSY TRYING OUT A NEW MAKE-UP STYLE 8D
The character that I'm cosplaying is Len!
They changed their formula etc. and I think it's a HUGE improvement from their past products. It's smudge-proof, waterproof (I tried gushing it under water and rubbing) and most importantly... AFFORDABLE!
I got the wonderful and fabulous Hi-Definition Gel Eyeliner Pen for a cheap price of $8.60! That's like the most amazing price ever for such quality *__________*
It's easy to use (it's not liquid so beginners will find it easy!) and glides smoothly on lids so it's definitely a great deal!
Although I would like to spaz over this amazing new discovery (I only used this eyeliner for my make-up; kinda surprised I didn't need to use liquid eyeliner to go over it), I need to start revising for my work since my saturday will be taken up by AFA. So this is the abrupt end to my nonsensical blogpost.
See you guys at AFA!

Where is one place that you feel calm no matter what, why does it make you calm and when did you go there last?I need a break from my essay writing so I'm going to blog about a restaurant which really sets me at ease. It's a fantastic location hidden away at East Point Mall (Simei) and it's called Hoshigaoka Restaurant. Below is a photo of the place itself:
Pretty quaint, y/y?
This photo is taken at about... 2pm in the afternoon. It's not that far away from lunch time but as you can see, it's complete empty (excluding my sister and I). So it totally has a relaxing ambience, the service is excellent and you wouldn't have to worry about judgemental people peering over and wondering what you're eating.
In fact, you can look out of the window and judge others instead.
If I happen to be eating alone (yes, I'm fine with it #loner), I can take all the time in my world sorting my thoughts out and nobody would be hurrying me to get out of the restaurant. If my sister is around, I can spend a long time chatting with her and the employees are nice enough to be refilling our tea constantly.
Free refills, yeah!
The food is excellent too *food porn alert!* and the price is incredibly decent, especially their lunch time menu.
Chirashi! *sparkly eyes*
My sister's shabu-shabu :3
I totally sound like a food blogger, don't I? XD
Such an atmosphere totally puts me at ease and momentarily, I'll just forget about my hectic schedules and tight deadlines. I last went there about a week ago and I'm looking forward to visiting it again soon!
As I was writing this entry, blogger has been a total bitch and my formatting / photos are constantly moving and running all over the place on their own. It's like the webpage is haunted / has a mind of it's own. As such, I think it wouldn't be long before I switch to wordpress. I mean, who would want to spend HOURS on fomatting? For such a short post, I spent more than 45 minutes before things look presentable.
Anyway, university is so different from the rigid school schedule I used to face. I mean, school has always been 5 days a week with splatters of school/public holiday. Now, I only study 3 days a week and the hours are so much shorter compared to when I was in JC, yet the workload is twice as much. Wth, judging by logical calculations, that shouldn't be possible but somehow, our magical university system has managed to complete that.
Faux bespectacled look attempting to look serene and hopefully hardworking. And if you're wondering why the photos are grainy, that's cause I finally got a smart phone with a front-facing camera.
I don't even know why I try to look dilligent when I'm obviously not. And because I'm lazy plus I don't want to deal with the horrible new interface, I shall end my post.
#abrupt
Yesterday while eating with my sister, I was complaining about how nervous I am about the appeal results (again) and this is what my sister said to me:
You ought to be contented with your current course and treat the results of your NUS Appeal as an additional bonus if your appeal is successful. If you're always puting NTU's LMS as a second choice, you'll never be happy since you will always be comparing with NUS's Japanese Studies and possibly having unrealistic thoughts (since you never did undertake that course and the grass is always greener on the other side).I have to admit that I'm a little ashamed of my thinking till she said that to me...
Hence, I decided to change the way I'm viewing this issue. No matter what university I eventually end up with, I sure hope that it will be a school that can offer me four years of fruitful studying (and great memories)! After all, university nearly marks the end of our education journey in Singapore, and I don't want to leave the system with a snowball of regrets! Of course, if I'm accepted by NUS, I'll be over the moon! However, I shouldn't be thinking like a pessimist if I'm rejected in my appeal; I just have to look forward to my education at NTU!
And as the saying goes...
One door closed is another door opened.Wise words indeed. Moreover, life doesn't stop at university admission. There's still much more challenges that awaits you!
FOOD.
I really wish that I can control my diet QAQ I went for a fat analysis and my fat percentage is super high, so I really need to cut down on carbo and start exercising OTL I want to reach my ideal weight before university starts, but I don't really think it's possible!
Firstly, my sister just returned from Europe and that can only mean one thing - lots of snacks! One of the most interesting ones which she had purchased for me is...
HAGGIS CHIPS!
In case you're not a foodie expert, here's a short breakdown of what Haggis really is:
"Haggis is a kind of savoury pudding containing sheep's pluck (heart, liver and lungs — see offal); minced with onion, oatmeal, suet, spices, and salt, mixed with stock, and traditionally encased in the animal's stomach and simmered for approximately three hours. Most modern commercial haggis is prepared in a sausage casing rather than an actual stomach." - Wikipedia
What the hell? OTL
It actually tastes fine, albeit indescribable. A little on the salty side, hmm...
Then last Saturday, we went for early Father's Day celebration. We ate at a zhi cha store, somewhere around Blk 800+ in Tampines. The shop appeared on the television show 煮炒到了 or something like that, hosted by Li Teng and Pornsak. The food is great and the service is okay, but the lady boss's attitude sucked big time!
My mood was totally spoilt because of this dish:
The dish isn't part of our order and it came wrongly, but the shop refused to take it back and insisted we pay for it. We were arguing with the waitress when the lady boss walked over and took a look at the commotion. We thought she would do something about it, but NO! She merely peered over, and freaking walked away, back to her seat and doing nothing! She offered no solution or whatsoever, leaving her poor employees to due with us. In the end, the employee forked out her own money to pay for complimentary desserts to appease us. I think the waitress is really poor thing and I didn't want to ruin the mood, so I just took the dish (I was paying for the meal).
As a lady boss, shouldn't you take charge of your freaking business and do something instead of leaving your employees to fend for themselves? I sure wouldn't want to work under someone like that in the future! The food is good, but I'm still slightly pissed.
Sambal kangkong with cuttlefish; average I guess.
Black pepper venison - I could only taste black pepper. I think the sauce was too overpowering for the dish! It pales in comparison to other restaurants etc.
Best dish of the day! Scallops with Banana and prawn :B Hehe, it's a great combination!
Ma po tofu! But I think the one near NTUC Income tastes better :(
After a hard day of cosplay shooting on Sunday, I went to feast again @ Watami located at The Central with my cosplay friends - Yuuwa & Kamelot.
My salad; tastes amazingly good!
Some sort of tea... Jasmine maybe?
My beef hot stone rice! Mad yummy~
Kamelot's Gyukotsu Ramen (beef ramen). The stock is beef-boned soup O_O
Then the sashimi came and my eyes literally SPARKLED.
*le gasp* It's amaebi (sweet shrimp)!
Kamelot didn't used to eat raw seafood, but now she does! *grins*
Yuuwa's tonkatsu ramen.
It was super embarassing when Yuuwa paid for the entire meal OTL sibei guilt-stricken. Must treat him someday back!
And even after eating so much yummy food, my gluttonous journey has yet to end. On Thursday, after the eye check with Josie, I went out to eat with Gaiana. We were browsing mindlessly in Ion Orchard when we realised we were both bored to tears and food was totally the way to go!
Gindaco Takoyaki! I bought the egg mayo one, which is $7.00 for 8 takoyaki balls. It's quite reasonable if you convert back to yen and it really tastes like the ones in Japan. MAD LOVE! ♥♥♥
Ending our snack with Yoghurt from The Yoghurt Place!
While walking midway, Gaiana and I really craved for Thai food, so we took a train down to Siam Kitchen @ Bugis Junction. I was literally kissing the glass windows; it was so packed! But our efforts paid off when we starded Dinner; Part Two!
Prawn crackers as appetizer.
Tom Yam Soup with Jasmine Rice for Gai...
... and Onion Curry Soft-shelled Crab with Roti Prata! It doesn't tastes as nice as a similar dish in Thai Express.
Then, I really started missing Thai Express at Tampines 1 and went there the next day. FML seriously; Thai food two days in a row? My diet is screwed, period.
My sis is obviously impatient and wants to eat already, lulz!
Her hor fun! It's actually seriously spicy! Don't be fooled!
Prawn toast! Only dish I don't mind with coriander.
My Tom Yam Soup! Super spicy too; I didn't finish it :( Like a wuss!
Their award-winning dessert! Tastes awesome!
I think this photo has "feel" leh... What do you think? LOL.
Of course, my week isn't complete with some online shopping, and I bought this pair of shoes from the LacePipe Sale. Most of the nice items were sold out before I even woke up and check my email for their newsletter OTL I am so thankful for my small feet, for I grabbed the pair below at a ridiculous price - $17.55 inclusive of normal shipping! The packaging was bad (envelope was torn apart), but Singpost kindly repacked it for me before sending over to my house. Initially I thought my mail was lost in post! Thankfully, my worries were unfounded!
I love them! They fit my feet perfectly! I can wear this with lots of outfit! I can bid my slippers farewell soon xD
---
I'm also super looking forward to next week (22 June especially) because Music Station is having an awesome line-up.
TO THE LIMIT / KAT-TUN
Special Medley / Keisuke Kuwata
PAPARAZZI / Shoujo Jidai
Kimi wa Boku da / Atsuko Maeda
BURN IT DOWN / LINKIN PARK
*I'm sorry I don't give a damn about Shoujo Jidai or the other two acts. It's just not my style.
If Linkin Park and KAT-TUN are singing back to back, I will seriously E JDK;LFHDSKJL FHGK LFSJDLASFDKL ; I'M SORRY, WORDS FAILED ME A LITTLE BACK THERE!
I loved the preview of the PV for To The Limit, so I'm really want to watch the live performance!
*swoons with happiness*
