Eyemazing No. 201 Review, Decorative Eyelash #1 Play Cool Review & I.Fairy Viva Brown Review + Random updates

It's been forever since I blogged ;__; Many things have happened but one of the most memorable was definitely the Singapore Social Concert! I managed to get free tickets for it (lucky ~) but couldn't stay till the very last song by Cee Lo Green (who sang "F*** You" without censorship, LOL).

My favourite is definitely Carly Rae Jepson ! She's so pretty in reality. It's a pity I was sitting damn far away though D:

A picture from the venue when haze still wasn't a problem, haha!

I could only get a clearer shot of her from the screen.

That's how far I was from the stage though.

Anyway, how is everyone surviving the haze? Thankfully I had a mask during the period of time where PSI was at its peak and masks were out of stock everywhere! I know that's not a N95 mask but it's better than nothing right? Hopefully the winds won't direct the smoke back in our faces again.

Oh hello there #terroristlookalike

On Saturday, there was a cosplay event at NUS and it was then the haze finally parted. Lucky!

Happy times!

I don't know if it is just me but blogger is getting increasingly hard to use -_-" Before I end my extremely short post (unrepentant after not blogging for so long), I bring to you three really short reviews!

First up...

Eyemazing No. 201

This is a pair of lashes that is extremely cute ~ I bought it when I was in Japan but it's now easily available in BHG as well (specifically the Century Square, Tampines outlet since I frequent there often and saw it before).

Packaging: 5/5 - It's really easy to open and re-seal it.
Price: 4/5 - If you purchase it when BHG has a 20% offer, it's super worth it! #auntiepersonalityemerge
Application: 4/5 - Remember to bend it before application or the lash can be really straight and hence unnatural on your eyes.
Effect: 3/5 - Since it's a "portion" and not full lash, it might look a bit funny if you don't have the habit of coating your lower lash with mascara. Compared to Dolly Wink's Baby Cute, it isn't as obvious though.
Total: 4/5 ;)
Will I Rebuy? Maybe not... Since I would prefer more drama and since I fumble with mascara on lower lashes, I would prefer full lashes. It differs for everyone!

Next up, we have...

Decorative Eyelash #1 Play Cool

Packaging: 5/5 - Easy to open and re-seal. I'm a lazy person so as long as it's convenient, I'm good.
Price: 4/5 - It's cheaper than Dolly Wink, comes with more pairs (yay!) and re-usable.
Application: 4/5 - Remember to bend it before application (like with all falsies)
Effect: 4/5 - Since it's a "portion" and not full lash, it might look a bit funny if you don't have the habit of coating your lower lash with mascara. Compared to Dolly Wink's Baby Cute, it isn't as obvious though.
Total: 4.25/5 ;)
Will I Rebuy? Yes, I will! However, it's not easily accessible. After I bought it from a sale at Tampines Mall, I haven't seen this brand anymore ;_;

Last but not least...

I. Fairy Viva Brown

Packaging: 0/5 - Those crazily hard-to-open bottles with metal seals never fail to break all my nails -_-
Price: 5/5 - For yearly lenses, they are pretty affordable! Of course, I wouldn't wear them for a year but you get me.
Comfort: 4/5 - Even in hazy conditions or being in air-con for the entire day, I could wear this pair for 9 - 12 hours and they didn't hurt when I removed them. I would say that's pretty good!
Effect: 4/5 -Very dolly and pretty natural if you have dark brown eyes naturally. However, you can't wear them without make-up because the enlargement is great!
Will I Rebuy? I love trying out a variety of lenses so... it's hard to tell!

With all these three reviewed items (which I all bought on my own), here's the look that I've created!

Dolly Wink No. 6 Baby Cute Review
was posted at 8:01 PM with 0 comments
So recently I joined the Tsubasa Masuwaka Lookalike Competition hosted by Shibuya Gals and Dolly Wink (Koji). Tsubasa Masuwaka is one of my favourite gyaru models and I think all her lashes are pretty amazing! They really do a good job on giving one the perfect dolly look! However, her lashes are ~pretty pricey~ so I usually use upper lashes from Diamond Lash (review here). Hence, for this competition, I decided to splurge and try her lower lash collection since I've yet to find lower lashes that I love.

Dolly Wink No. 6 Baby Cute

I chose No. 6 Baby Cute because I've been dying to try it out. The packaging is simply adorable and easy to remove! No scissors involved at all! Below is how I look with the lashes (and blusher for the first time in my life for the 'blushing cheek effect' which Tsubasa always have!)!

First shot at camwhoring!

Love love love the effect it helps my eyes achieve! They look super natural yet dramatic at the same time (how is that even possible but argh, I can't think of how to describe it!). However, no matter how much I loved it, the application is horrible! I prefer strip lashes and had a hard time fumbling with the tiny pieces (each lower lash has a bunch of 6 individual pieces). Not to mention, they fly away too easily so please avoid the fan during application! And tweazers are definitely mandatory (usually I apply with my hands).

Copying the poses in Japanese magazine #fail

Although the lashes are pricey and not always available in Watsons, I am tempted to purchase another set of lower lashes from Dolly Wink (because I loved the effect!). And I'm definitely trying out her 'Otona' series where the lower lashes come in strips instead (laughs). I heard that they are cheaper in Taiwan so I can't wait to stock them up on my trip this December!

Overall Conclusion
Packaging: 5/5
Price: 3/5
Application: 3/5 (I just need to invest more time in applying it)
Effect: 5/5
Total: 4/5

If you're someone with greater patience and precise handling of small pieces, these lashes are definitely suitable for you! And one last camwhore shot before I end the post...

Another look with the lashes~

Ciao!

Hoshigaoka Restaurant
was posted at 3:12 AM with 0 comments
Recently, I'm pretty stressed out so my friend asked me this question:
Where is one place that you feel calm no matter what, why does it make you calm and when did you go there last?
I need a break from my essay writing so I'm going to blog about a restaurant which really sets me at ease. It's a fantastic location hidden away at East Point Mall (Simei) and it's called Hoshigaoka Restaurant. Below is a photo of the place itself:

Pretty quaint, y/y?

This photo is taken at about... 2pm in the afternoon. It's not that far away from lunch time but as you can see, it's complete empty (excluding my sister and I). So it totally has a relaxing ambience, the service is excellent and you wouldn't have to worry about judgemental people peering over and wondering what you're eating.

In fact, you can look out of the window and judge others instead.

If I happen to be eating alone (yes, I'm fine with it #loner), I can take all the time in my world sorting my thoughts out and nobody would be hurrying me to get out of the restaurant. If my sister is around, I can spend a long time chatting with her and the employees are nice enough to be refilling our tea constantly.

Free refills, yeah!

The food is excellent too *food porn alert!* and the price is incredibly decent, especially their lunch time menu.

Chirashi! *sparkly eyes*

My sister's shabu-shabu :3

I totally sound like a food blogger, don't I? XD

Such an atmosphere totally puts me at ease and momentarily, I'll just forget about my hectic schedules and tight deadlines. I last went there about a week ago and I'm looking forward to visiting it again soon!

As I was writing this entry, blogger has been a total bitch and my formatting / photos are constantly moving and running all over the place on their own. It's like the webpage is haunted / has a mind of it's own. As such, I think it wouldn't be long before I switch to wordpress. I mean, who would want to spend HOURS on fomatting? For such a short post, I spent more than 45 minutes before things look presentable.

Random stuff. What's new?
was posted at 12:49 AM with 0 comments
*Ja-Jang!* 5 more days to liberation, woo! ♥

I feel a little overwhelmed actually. Previously, I kept lamenting how quickly A levels are going to hit me, and before I knew it, it's already going to be over. I kept thinking how I've yet to truly put in any effort and it's just going to finish in a blink of an eye. How I've wasted time, sigh. Hopefully, my grades would be ideal, and not suck too badly. I really want to get into a course I want in a local uni! Then wth am I blogging now? I should be mugging.

Actually, I must confess, I entered party mood the moment my economics paper was over. I went out to have a nice meal with my family during that weekend at 店小二 (Tampines 1 Branch) even though I was supposed to be studying, and ordered loads of food! I felt so greedy and fat ordering, cause I wanted everything on the list =w=" I do hope I can control my ravenous appetite in the near future, cause I am really (no, really!) determined to lose some weight.

Photobucket

The first dish that came was some pork ribs ordered by my dad. Tasted like an overdosage of paper, blech!

Photobucket

Next was my all-time favourite - Ee fu mee!

Photobucket

Look how godly this photo look. I am getting increasingly hungry as I blog.

Photobucket

I requested for this dish and it was mad orga; Butter baked prawns. I can't even describe how heavenly it tastes. Even though the sauce is all butter (aka oil), I consumed copious amounts of it. I do not regret every single bite I took!

Photobucket

Another shot. Mad nice. I feel like I'm constantly in heaven eating this prawn *_*

Photobucket

The organic wheat grass tofu turned out unexpectedly good!

Photobucket

It's damn green (slightly freaky), but it's super soft and tender! I don't mind eating such tofu everyday ^_^

Photobucket

For dessert, we ordered some red bean paste pastry (i can't remember it's exact name). The skin was crispy, there was a lot of filling, and it was super sweet! Very complimentary. A nice warm dish to end off the day!

Photobucket

Actually, no. I still got some 桂花糕. I expected it to be a warm dessert as well, but it turned out to be a jelly instead. Not to sweet, just nice. If you're not a fan of light herbal taste/fragrance, you better avoid this :x

---

I was planning to go Japan with my sister this December (hell yeah, finally leaving Singapore for the first time in my life) and we were booking tickets when I realised... my passport has expired for more than a year and eight months. It was really a bummer and I had to go re-make my passport, which includes the chore of needing to take a new photo of myself since my previous passport was a photo of myself when I was five years old.

Since I don't want to look too different from my passport photo, I didn't put much make-up (*wails* no eyeliner!). I just put on some powder and concealer because I was breaking out so badly during the examination period. The shocking outcome was -

Photobucket

HAHA, DEAD-PAN TEMPLATE FACE WITH NO FRINGE!

I always wanted to try out demi lashes, and after trying out, I decided I look mad weird in them. I guess they aren't suited for me. If you're wondering where I got my demi lashes from (since they look so goddamn negligible and you might want to avoid it in the future), I just chopped a full lash into half and stuck them on.

And sadly, since ICA have accepted this photo, I guess I'll be looking like this on my passport for the next 5 - 10 years (I have no idea how long a renewal in passport last for). Picking my passport up on 1 December and booking a trip to Japan immediately on that day. I can hardly wait! \o/

---

Before I end off my post, the bag I bought from taobao finally arrived!

Photobucket

I got it in muted blue since it's a 'safer' colour and more versatile with a variety of outfits. I wanted to buy this bag initially from TCL at $27 (excluding postage), but decided it was too costly and didn't leave a comment for it. Turns out to be a good decision, cause I got it off taobao at about $14 (excluding shipping)?

Photobucket

Shipping was $9 (I suspect the agent scammed my money for shipping, but it will be the last time I order from them). Total was around $23, but it's still much cheaper than TCL and I can choose from an assortment of colours with no rush. Look at the cute heart shape locket! It comes with a strap so I can change it into a sling bag for casual outings, or a handbag when I'm going to work. I think it is a good buy for my wardrobe :D

Material is slightly rougher than expected (I thought it would be velvety), but there was no rust around the buckles or lose threads, so I would say that the quality is fair. But it's really quite an exquisite piece, so I love it to bits~ Can't wait to take it out!

---

On a random note, as I was blogging, my itunes playlist happened to play 'Poker Face' by Lady Gaga and I realised how much I missed her upbeat catchy dance tracks. Now, all I get are songs like 'Marry the Night' and 'You and I', which doesn't get me off my seat to dance and prance around my house. Damn!

[Short Review] ASHINCANS - 4 BUTTON RIPPED JEANS
was posted at 5:48 AM with 1 comments
With the A levels starting in 11 days, I'm starting to freak out quite a bit. Two years really fly by, isn't it? To control my anxiety, what do I always do? SHOP ONLINE, LOL! I need to curb my obsessive shopping nature, urgh! It's not healthy for my pocket, though I get lots of satisfaction from retail therapy :3

Also, I am highly stressed over my self-created dilemma. Should I get the One Piece x Hello Kitty merchandises (I want the earphones and handphone charm!), or buy KAT-TUN's CD?

PhotobucketPhotobucket
I'm more inclined to get the merchandises, but I'm afraid it wouldn't be sold online and I will have no way to purchase it. What if I end up with none, since KAT-TUN's CD require me to join a pre-order?

Photobucket

Anyway, moving on to my main topic today before I start on my Chemistry revision *finally, lol!*, I finally got my own pair of fitting jeans (the previous Bow Denim Jeans doesn't count cause the material was stretchy and not really jean material? i don't feel that it is a pair of jeans)! Starting from secondary school, I had always worn *erhem, past perfect tense properly used here!* my sister's jeans, because I preferred buying shorts all the time. Every CNY where my dad give us some money to shop, my plan was always to get a pair of jeans, but since I'm a fickle bitch, I always side line and end up buying skirts (which I hardly ever wear), shorts, and dresses (which makes me look machiam fat, so I never wear them either). So this time, I was absolutely thrilled when my high-waist ripped jeans arrive (stock photo).

Photobucket

I sized up this time round because ashincans always sell stuff with smaller cutting (what I feel), which was a wrong reason, because there was so much excess cloth ;A; But since it's high waist, the excess area would be used to tuck in my top I guess... I'm eyeing knitted tops to go with this pair of jeans, but since I have super sloppy shoulders and I can't possibly hold them up all the time, I'll just have to find a more structure top.

I think it's pretty reasonably priced, since jeans are always within the $20 ~ $30 range (my gauge could be wrong since I never bought jeans prior to this; my mom told me that). Most importantly, I absolutely loved this design - HELL YEAH, RIPPED!

Photobucket

I think my obsession with ripped items is spiraling slightly out of hand.

[REVIEW] TheTinselRack
was posted at 3:00 AM with 0 comments
My first buy from TTR -

The Tinsel Rack Fairylights Skirt in Salmon Pink, Small

After seeing how some of the podders had already received their skirt yesterday, I kinda panicked, but I'm so glad it came today (I couldn't stop checking my mailbox)! Colour of the skirt is inaccurate in my photo; But it is true to the photos TTR has provided!

I'm glad I chose Salmon Pink since it's rather complementary to my skin tone. Had some trouble fitting it pass my hips, but it sits snugly on my waist (: The quality of the cloth is great, the inner lining is pretty comfortable and makes the skirt non-sheer. But most importantly, I love how flowy it is~

It comes with a sash which I doubt I'll ever need it.

I'm 151cm, so it's slightly too long for me, but heels should solve the problem!

Random Note: My feet looked so tiny in the photo! Haha!

Taking the alternative road... Going hobo?
was posted at 12:51 AM with 0 comments
DISCLAIMER: I DID NOT PHOTOSHOP ANY OF THE PHOTOS THIS TIME ROUND CAUSE I WAS TOO LAZY!

Singapore experiences summer all year round, so flowery flowy dresses are always in style. I'm short and look like a dumpling in them, so I tend to avoid them as much as possible =_= Lately, I'm preferring clothes with aren't conventional and Josie calls it "hobo".

Since the exams are nearing, my compulsive buying disorder has started acting up as usual. Buying items keep me looking forward to their arrival, as well as soldiering on bravely during the examination period when I feel like crap everyday.

#1 - TVD Candy Empire Shorts in Burgandy Red

Photobucket

Lovely pair of shorts, though the waiting time nearly drove me crazy. I spent too long thinking about it and it was all snapped up before I knew it, so I had to join the backorders ): Comparing it with TCL's high waist denim shorts, I prefer this pair cause I felt that the material for this pair was much more comfortable. To each it's own I guess. The shorts look pretty slimming on me, so that's a bonus. But like all things, nothing is perfect. I feel that the thigh opening was too big, and I'm slightly uncomfortable with it. But still, this is definitely going into my "multiple wearing" clothes group because it looks great and complementary to my tanned skin!

Since it's red, I do feel that I'll have some problems matching tops with it, which caused me to buy the next item...

#2 - BUTTEREDGUN: Black Meshed Babydoll Skater Tunic

Photobucket

AWWRIGHT! I got the name right without referring to the website! The name is really long, but I like this piece. It... hides my fat arms, and the quality is rather thick and comfy. I have been thinking of getting a skater dress, since I like how it flares out, but a dress on blogshop is always wayyy tooo long for me! So, I prounced at the chance to get this turnic! I was lucky I commented 10 minutes within the release and got this piece while studying for my chemistry exam, because awhile later when I checked back for payment, it was all pending and backorders were open already. Talk about fastest fingers first! ;A;

And please don't judge how messy my room is.

#3 - BUTTEREDGUN: Flatforms

Photobucket

I've always been searching for clothes to match this pair of lovely shoes, and I've finally accomplished it! The flatforms are comfortable for walking, but I'm worried that the back zip might poke my leg and scrap my skin away with every step I take ;A;

#4 - LILYPIRATES: BUTTERFLY KISS MAXI IN PASTEL PRINTS

Photobucket

The prints are lovely and the inner lining is super comfortable. I like to twirl around in this dress. Sadly, my lack of height doesn't do justice to how lovely this dress is! I do hope there'll come a occassion that I can wear it out!

But I do think that I look rather dumpy in it ): Look like I can't do without heels!

LAST BUT NOT LEAST... #5 - ASHINCANS: Bow Denim Jeans

Photobucket

Okay, I lied. I bought this within 4 minutes of it's launch, if I didn't remember clearly, because I was afraid Josie will judge me ):

It's really comfortable, but are my legs too fat for me? /conscious
I really like the design and I think it looks amazing, but, I keep feeling I'm too fat and tanned for it T_T Please tell me if I should keep it, or sell it!

Photobucket

From now on, I'll only creep Ash in Cans and ButteredGun cause I really like the style and concept of clothes they cater. It's also priced reasonably (high-end shops like LB is out of my range), items that I can afford! (:

And to end off today's happy day (after all my online items I've ordered finally came~), I got this super cute keychain @ downtown ehub.

Photobucket

TONY TONY CHOPPER!

Photobucket

I love One Piece sooo much. Waiting for the A levels to be over so that I can read more than 200 + chapters at a go! 8D I spent roughly 2-3 weeks reading 425 chapters (Yes, I remembered where I left off) during last december holidays xD /obsessed

Swivelle'sTracy-Reese Inspired Knitwear in Nautical Blue
was posted at 3:39 AM with 0 comments
oday I received the top I ordered from Swivelle two day ago. This is the second time I'm ordering from Swivelle and as usual, excellent and speedy customer service. I didn't expect to receive it today at all! Usually other livejournal blogshops will mail the items out 1-3 days after payment, but Swivelle is different (: Out of the many blogshops I've made purchases from, they definitely emerge top for quality service!

Photobucket

I love how they hand-write my name on the card. It makes me feel so loved and special as a customer! ♥ Will definitely purchase from their future collections! I got the Tracy-Reese Inspired Knitwear in Nautical Blue after much consideration since I was really tempted to get it in Candy Red too!

Photobucket

I really love their self-manufactured label (I bought the Eve of Love Frock in Grape Sherbet previously, which is their own label as well). The quality of this knitted top is amazing, as stated in the description! It's really soft and comfortable. This is one of the best purchases I've ever bought online. It's super versatile and can be matched with anything for different looks and occassion. Definitely a worthy investment (: I've always liked striped tops, but was afraid horizontal stripes might make me look fatter than usual, so I bought this top without hesitation, because it isn't easy to come across a top with vertical stripes (which gives the illusion of a slimming effect)! Mad love for this top, it's definitely going to be my most-worn top in the future!

Birthday and Lashes Review!
was posted at 1:34 AM with 0 comments
I have so much to write about! But due to school work, I kept procrastinating blogging and all I wanted to blog about snow-balled, so I decided to only write down the more recent events T_T If I have time, I would definitely write about my first trip to a flea market and the awesome deals I got! Hence for now, I would just blog about 18th Birthday and diamond lash review.

My 18th birthday was the first birthday I've spent with friends (partially). Usually I just spend the entire day at home, or with my family (eg. dinner and cake). This year, my friends and I went to a kbox, and it was a great time, if not for my hurting tooth ): Didn't snap any photos cause kbox has poor lighting OTL

After being scolded by my dad during pick-up, we went to Momoya for their dinner buffet. $32/adult! My sis was treating, but it was so expensive my heart kinda ached. But the food was super good! I ordered plates, after plates of sashimi!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Tako, Salmon, three other fish, and amaebi (sweet shrimp)! I love amaebi the most because it's so sweet and fresh! I kept finishing it, and my parents were complaining that I eat too fast, so I got an entire platter all to myself! *muahahaha!*

Photobucket

Doesn't it look so tantalizing? OMG, looking at it, I'm hungry again :/

Photobucket

Their tempura was so-so. I only ate one ebi and that was about it. Oily food fills me fast in buffer, so... AVOID!

Photobucket

*nom nom*

Photobucket

I must eat tofu for every single japanese buffet I go to!

Photobucket

Their cold cha soba was EXTREMELY good, their hot one was so-so.

Photobucket

My ice-cream buffet cake, after the buffet! *dies* I gained three kg after my birthday /sad

Photobucket

Thank you all for your gifts! :3

---

I received quite a lot of make-up products this birthday (speaks volume), so I decided to try out Josie's gift to me first.

Photobucket

Products I'm using today!

Photobucket

She got me Too Faced Glamour to Go Fairy Edition (I love pretty packagings and fairies!). It was a compact with 8 different shades of eyeshadows, one lip gloss/cream, a blusher, and a bronzer. I tried out contouring today, but imho, I think it's quite fail, so don't flame me about it, LOL! Everybody's learning each day!

Photobucket

Super excited to try out Diamond Lashes (Glamour Eyes) for the first time, heard wonderful raves about it online! I initially got it for Josie, but I think it's too drama for her eyes, so I'm keeping it and using it for myself. Best decision in my life. This pair of lashes are indeed the best I've ever used. NO KIDDING!

Photobucket

Cute case to keep them inside after using!

The lashes came pre-glued, and the glue used was good! I didn't need to apply my own coat of glue to apply them at all! Holding power was awesome. To show how drama these wonderful lashes are, I wore them only on one eye. See the difference?

Photobucket

I usually don't show photos while I'm still incomplete with make-up (cause usually I conceal for the second time) cause of my horrible dark eye circles. Please don't focus on them, the lashes are the main star in that photo!

Without Flash:

Photobucket

With Flash:

Photobucket

FYI: I'm wearing clear contacts.

See how drama these lashes are? Perfect for any occassion as it doesn't feel heavy at all, and still looks rather natural! I usually don't cut lashes cause I think it's a shame, but the truth is, I have no idea how to cut it without making it look like crap.

MY VERDICT ON DIAMOND LASH (GLAMOUR EYES)
Affordability: 4/5 - It's $22.90 for 5 pairs! I got this off a pre-order spree, and I really think it's worth it because they look so gorgeous! Moreover, compared to other Japanese brands which only comes with 2 pairs for around the same price, I think this is super worth it!
Easily obtained?: 2/5 - NO! Not at all. It's difficult to purchase online without getting conned of shipping fees etc. I should have begged a friend overseas in Japan to get me more!
Ease of usage: 4.5/5 - Comes pre-glued and easily fit the shape of my eye, without cutting!
Dramatic and Length: 5/5 - Look at the photos, need I say more?
Re-purchase?: A BIG BIG YES! I'll stock them up the next time I come across them.

Final: 4.5 / 5

I'm super happy that I've found the perfect lashes! THE SEARCH IS OVER!

FOTD;

Photobucket

I'm using:

Too Faced Glamour to Go Fairy Edition
Diamond Lash Glamour Eye
K-Palette Eye Liner
zA Two-Way Cake
Clinique Lip Gloss

Random: My eyeliner skills greatly detoriated after months of non-usage!
